2002 Hunter 43' _{(13.11 m)} 420

Passage 420

NEW PRICE! $119,900

The Passage 420 is built for sailors who want more than comfort — they want a center‑cockpit cruiser that actually performs. Drawing on the proven heritage of the Passage 450, the 420 incorporates Hunter’s most effective performance innovations, refined through years of owner feedback and real‑world cruising experience.

At the heart of the design is the B&R rig, engineered for a powerful yet balanced sail plan. The swept‑back spreaders and absence of a backstay allow for a larger roach main, delivering impressive drive and responsiveness, especially in light to moderate air. The rig geometry also reduces mast pumping and distributes loads efficiently, contributing to a stable, confidence‑inspiring ride offshore.

The integrated cockpit arch isn’t just a signature Hunter feature — it keeps mainsheet loads high and out of the cockpit, improving both safety and sail control. Combined with mast struts and composite chainplates, the 420’s deck and rig structure are exceptionally stiff, translating to better pointing ability and more consistent performance across conditions.

Despite being a center‑cockpit cruiser, the Passage 420 defies expectations with its handling. The hull form delivers a surprising blend of speed and comfort, tracking well under sail and maintaining momentum even in variable conditions. The balanced rudder provides precise helm feel, making the boat easy to manage whether you’re short‑handed or pushing for miles on a passage.

Below deck, the performance‑minded design continues with a layout that supports extended cruising. The salon’s opposing settees offer secure seating underway, and the U‑shaped galley provides bracing points for cooking in a seaway. The navigation station opposite the galley serves as a proper command center, with space for full‑size electronics and system controls — ideal for passagemakers who rely on accurate routing and monitoring.

The owner’s stateroom aft benefits from the center‑cockpit design, offering excellent motion at sea and a quiet, protected space during overnight passages. Forward, the guest cabin provides a comfortable berth and private head, making the boat well‑suited for crewed voyages.

The Passage 420 is a cruiser that rewards sailors who appreciate thoughtful engineering and real performance. She’s built to cover miles efficiently, handle confidently in a range of conditions, and deliver the kind of sailing experience that keeps you looking for the next horizon.

Key Interior Features

Master Stateroom

Step into the owner’s stateroom and it immediately feels like a sanctuary — the kind of space you look forward to after a long passage or a perfect day on the hook. The walk‑around queen berth invites you to stretch out, while full‑height headroom and warm teak accents create a sense of calm and privacy. With generous wardrobes, deep drawers, and a slide‑out desk, it’s a space that works as beautifully as it feels. The en‑suite head, complete with a separate shower and Corian vanity, brings a touch of home to life on the water.

Forward Guest Stateroom

Your guests will love waking up here. The Pullman double berth, soft natural light, and cozy settee make this cabin feel like a boutique retreat. With ample storage and a private bow head with its own shower, visitors enjoy comfort and independence — ideal for cruising with friends or family.

Salon

The salon is the heart of the boat — bright, open, and designed for connection. Whether you’re sharing stories over dinner or relaxing with a book on a quiet morning, the plush U‑shaped settee and gleaming teak table create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The table lowers to form an additional double berth when needed. Opposite, a two‑person settee adds balance and extra seating. Sunlight pours through the large windows and overhead hatches, filling the space with an airy, uplifting glow.

Galley

This U‑shaped galley is built for real cruising life — the kind where meals become memories. A three‑burner gimballed stove and oven, twin stainless sinks, and Corian counters make cooking underway easy and enjoyable. The top‑ and front‑loading refrigerator, separate freezer, microwave, and hidden trash bin keep everything organized. With a massive pantry and abundant storage, provisioning for long trips feels effortless.

Navigation Station

Across from the galley, the navigation station offers a dedicated command center — a place to plan passages, manage systems, and stay connected to the rhythm of the sea. It’s functional, comfortable, and ready for serious cruising.

Interior Ambiance

Everywhere you look, the interior blends craftsmanship and comfort. Rich fabrics, polished teak, and durable Corian surfaces create a warm, timeless feel. Natural light, thoughtful design, and quality materials make the boat feel less like a vessel and more like a floating home — one ready to carry you toward new horizons.
