Description
Conceived by legendary yachtsman and MJM founder Bob Johnstone and designed by renown naval architect Doug Zurn, the MJM 29z blends timeless Carolina flare with Downeast styling for modern performance, fuel efficiency, and all-weather capability. Built with advanced lightweight construction and exceptional laminate quality, the 29z was engineered to deliver Bob Johnstone's vision of "half the fuel, twice the fun."
True Love has been meticulously maintained by her current owner for the past nine years and is offered with a desirable list of upgrades and equipment. Most notably, she is powered by a new Yanmar 370 HP diesel engine with approximately 15 hours, providing outstanding reliability, economy, and performance.
Is the MJM 29z a good boat for family outings and entertaining?
The MJM 29z is an excellent design for day and overnight outings to the Cape and Vineyard and Nantucket and beyond. The hull design and construction handles the chop easily. She is rated CE Mark Offshore Category B which is the highest rating available for boats under 40'.
How many people can go along at the same time?
She has the most seating possible and level floor from the stern to the helm so excellent for entertaining. The boat is rated for 8 people so take your family and friends.
Why should I consider True Love over other MJM 29z's?
True Love has a new Yanmar 370 diesel installed in 2025 and was stored out of the water in 2026. The motor has just 20 hours. This engine update was voluntary - the original motor was fine. The seller decided to get a new motor installed and get a little more speed.
Notable features include:
- New Yanmar 370 HP diesel engine (approx. 15 hours)
- Bow thruster for effortless docking
- Trim tabs for optimized ride and handling
- Reverse-cycle air conditioning and heat
- VacuFlush head system
- Electric anchor windlass
- Raymarine multifunction display, radar, and autopilot
- Classic Downeast design with Carolina flare
