Built for those who appreciate the quiet confidence of a true Downeast workhorse, this 2021 36’ Express Cruiser from Ellis Boat Company delivers the unmistakable pedigree of Maine craftsmanship, just down the harbor from Hinckley Yachts. This is a boat for people who understand hulls, sea conditions, and the value of doing things right the first time.

Time & Tide carries the soul of a traditional lobster boat, refined for serious cruising. Her semi-displacement hull, with a full keel and protected running gear, offers a soft, predictable ride and exceptional tracking in sloppy conditions. Powered by a single 440hp Yanmar diesel, she’s built for efficiency and reliability. Burn less fuel, go farther, and do it with confidence. The 5-blade prop and Evolution shaft system deliver smooth, quiet performance, while bow and stern thrusters make handling in tight harbors effortless.

Step aboard and you’ll immediately notice this isn’t a flashy production boat, it’s purposeful, clean, and built to last. Solid fiberglass construction, vacuum-bagged coring, and meticulous finish work throughout speak to a builder that prioritizes integrity over shortcuts.

The cockpit and shelter are designed for real use. With wide open working space, excellent visibility, and thoughtful details everywhere you look. Teak tables, varnished seating, and a warm, understated finish create an inviting space whether you’re hauling gear or enjoying a quiet evening at anchor. The hardtop enclosure with opening windshields gives you protection when the weather turns and fresh air when it doesn’t.

Below, she’s surprisingly comfortable without losing her practical edge. A generous V-berth, proper head with separate shower, and a well-equipped galley with diesel cooktop, refrigeration, and ample storage make extended cruising not just possible, but enjoyable. This is a boat you can disappear on for days or weeks at a time.

With 210 gallons of fuel capacity, robust systems, and straightforward mechanical access, she’s built for owners who value independence and self-sufficiency. Solar and unnecessary complexity have been intentionally left out. This is a mariner’s boat, not a gadget platform.

Electronics are modern and capable with a full Garmin suite including radar, autopilot, AIS, and chartplotter. Everything you need to navigate safely in changing conditions.

She also comes ready for adventure with a tender, davit system, safety gear, and all the essentials already aboard.

This Ellis 36 isn’t trying to be something it’s not. It’s honest, capable, and deeply satisfying to run. Whether you’re cruising the coast, heading offshore, or simply enjoying the rhythm of a well-built boat under you. If you’ve been waiting for a true Downeast cruiser that balances tradition, efficiency, and livability, this is it!
